The Catholic faith teaches that health care is a universal human right. In their pastoral letter, Health and Health Care, the United States bishops called for a “comprehensive health care system that will ensure a basic level of health care for all Americans.” And Pope John XXIII, in his encyclical Peace on Earth, listed health care among those basic rights which flow from the sanctity and dignity of human life.
Catholics for Sebelius is a project of Catholics United. Catholics United is a national online community of Catholics who believe strongly in our faith's call to build a society for justice and the common good. We take seriously all our Church's social and political teachings, and we refuse to water down our faith in service of partisan politics.
